The Sun Java J2SDK v1.4.2_05 distribution for Linux has been installed on Willers. It runs under FreeBSD's Linux emulation. As a result, some things may not work perfectly. Most notably, users will see a run-time warning of:

"Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM warning: Can't detect initial thread stack location"

This is the best we will be able to do for Java support as Sun is not likely to release a FreeBSD native version.
