I have one set of patches in hand that integrates SpamAssassin? into the Mailman message processing flow. They apply their SpamAssassin? configuration across all mailing lists as a single user (mailman).
I am waiting for a second set of patches that may have better per-list configuration. However, they are predicated in mailman having already held the message in the hold queue and nukes messages behind it, which may not be true of the lists here.
I will probably implement the first set of patches soon.
I need to figure out the right way to advertise the change to the community. Send to all the *-owner entries in the /etc/mail/aliases file?
Do we even want to do this? It will put more load on the list owner to approve/discard those messages that fall into the shadow region and they list owners will not be able to tune the user_prefs. However, I think it will be better for the list owners in the long-run.
Currently Ken Key is working on this project.
