Catalogs for Disabled Persons:
The following companies supply catalogs for disabled persons. Please note that they are not specifically for stroke patients.

Clothing:

Did You Know About These Services?
Many organizations offer special services or discounts to persons with disabilities.

Phone Company
There are various equipment adaptations and price reductions available through PacBell. In many cases, phone equipment can be obtained free of charge. Directory Assistance is also available at no charge. Call the phone company’s Disabled Services Department for more information.

Pacific Gas & Electric
Contact PG&E about their "Lifeline Rates," a special program designed for persons with disabilities.

Meals on Wheels
This organizations delivers free meals. Check your county directory for their phone number.

Air Travel
Almost all airlines offer special services for disabled persons, including special rates, storage, on-board assistance, and other air travel needs.

Taxi
Greatly reduced rates are available. Contact your city Health and Human Services Department for information about how to qualify.

Parking
Time limits on parking meters and curb colors (with the exception of red) are exempted with the display of a handicapped placard or disabled license plates. Inquire about obtaining a disabled placard or license plates from the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV). The DMV also offers discounts on vehicle registration.

Hotels
The Americans with Disabilities Act says all hotels must have accessible rooms.
