For the second consecutive year, the Aphasia Center
of California participated in the Volunteer Center's annual Walk,
"The Human Race."
This year, more than 30 Aphasia Center walkers
got up early to walk along the Lafayette Reservoir in Contra Costa
County to raise money for the ACC. Stroke survivors, including
those using canes and wheelchairs, came out to support the Center.
These individuals and others enlisted the help
of more than 150 donors who made contributions benefiting the
ACC. The Aphasia Center of California raised more than $3,500
to be used for program services for those affected by aphasia.
We hope to make next year's Human Race an even
bigger success. Please join us in increasing awareness and program
services for those with aphasia by collecting donations for next
year's event. Mark your calendars now for Saturday, May 12th,
2001!
