Trip started in Slano bay about 30km NW of Dubrovnik. Crossed via the Jakljan island to the eastern corner of Mljet island. Went west along the north part of the island and then south to enter the the two inland salt water lakes--Malo Jezero and Veliko Jezero which are connected to the sea by a narrow canal. After touring the south of the island we crossed back to the Elafiti Islands landing on Sipan and Lopud before crossing back to the mainland. We finished at the kayak outfitter’s dock at the head of Zaton bay just north of Dubrovnik.

After landing in Dubrovnik, we were picked up by the kayak outfitters. We set up at their place in Zaton bay and then were transported with the kayak to Slano bay. Afternoon in Slano bay. Orr organizing the equipment before we packed the boat and launched.

Two hours after crossing from Sobra a sudden squall came in from the mainland – we decided to quit for the day. We searched the rocky and steep shores for a while until Orr noticed a small flat area on the steep Jakljan  island. Parking on the Jakljan island – lake-like conditions an hour after the wind. Painless rock landings - one of the pleasures of a plastic kayak.

Prozura bay. Found a single small spot on the Island for the tent. After dark, big rats started climbing over the tent. Spent a few hours punching them from inside and then we all went to sleep. In the morning I was  happy to find that they did no damage to the equipment.
