Welcome to the Magenta Project Wiki! Magenta is a small package of Java sourcecode distributed under the GPL. It can be used as a framework for developing Agent systems. It is a re-implementation in Java of the original Magenta agent framework, developed by BabakEsfandiari in Smalltalk. The Magenta Pages are maintained by AlokeMukherjee. See Contact for more info.

Guts: Magenta consists of a few basic classes that implement a Java agent capable of communicating with other Magenta agents and managing a local database of objects. Find out the details here.

Projects: By itself Magenta doesn't do much, the fun is in writing applications that use the services it provides. Here you'll find a demo of the Nqueens problem for Magenta and examples of Magenta frontends. Please contribute your project here!

Bugs: Another way you can contribute. Here is a place to report things that don't work, things that don't work the way you'd like, or things that don't even exist but ought to. (preferrably Magenta-related, but hey, let your imagination run wild)
