Monday February 17, 2003 - Getting lost somewhere in Chelsea

Enjoyed the Georgian House Hotel "Full English Breakfast" that is included in the price.  It consisted of:

I was pretty darn full after that breakfast, so I decided to walk it off by walking to Kensington Palace, afterall it didn't look that far on the map... I was wrong because I got lost somewhere after Sloane Square.. don't ask me how.. because as usual, I saw some pretty looking square, and wonder off my intended path, and ended up lost somewhere near the Royal Hospital Rd,  don't know how I ended up going south near the Thames when I intended to go North.    Managed to finally head back up the right direction.  My feet was killing me, I think my socks were too thin.. I needed better cushioning socks and more shock absorbant shoes...

It was a sunny, but darn cold day (it was windy too).  Went past the venue where London Fashion week was being held that week, past Harrod's (wasn't opened yet).  By 10:00 am I was at the Victoria and Albert museum.. still don't know how I ended up there, but as I was cold, and tired, I Big Ben & Parliament at nightdecided to head in and look around.  After taking a break at the V&A, I brave the cold once again, and headed north toward Hyde Park, walk along th south end of it, and headed to Kensington Palace (former home of Princess Diana, childhood home of Queen Victoria).  There was an exhibit of Royal customs, including the royal wedding dresses of Queen Victoria, up till Queen Elizabeth II.  Queen Victoria must have been REALLY tiny from the look of her wedding dress.   There were also some of Princess Diana's dresses on display.

After Kensington Palace, I headed up to Notting Hill, stopping by an indian resaturant along the way to grab a late lunch.  My feet was absolutely killing me by this time, so I staggered back to the tube.  Did some email at the EasyEverything at Victoria station.

Headed out at night to take some shots of Big Ben, and the Westminister area, my feet hurt enough that I had to take the tube back to Victoria from Westminister.

Example of budget:
1.60 GBP Zone 1 tube ticket
0.72 GBP 500 ml Fanta
3.30 GBP Chicken Masala takeaway
