Club Nationals, Day 2
Day 2 of the 2007 USATF National Club Track & Field Championships wrought more fierce GBTC performances, solidifying our women's claim to 4th place (out of 24 scoring clubs) with 87 points, while our men moved up into 4th (out of 38 scoring clubs) with 55 points. In the combined division, GBTC scored 4th (out of 47 scoring clubs) with 142 points. Our nearest competitors in the combined scoring, VS Athletics TC (3rd, 155 points) and Nike-CPTC (5th, 139 points), kept the club's athletes motivated through the closing relays. However, all clubs were something apart from this year's two dominant contenders. Shore AC (276 points combined) and 2006 combined club champion Executive TC (267 points combined) forged the closest rivalry yet seen at these club championships.
Highlights of the second day include Jake Razevich's new club record of 4.90m in the pole vault, Andrew Hall's win and season best of 65.40m in the javelin, the onslaught of GBTC women (Clare, Harlow, and Williams) scoring a combined 16 points in the high jump, and our women's 4x100m (Williams, Taylor, Harlow, and Tuakli-Wosornu) narrowly missing their own club record from the 2006 Penn Relays by 0.16 seconds.
