Sydney
In 2002 I had a chance to go to Sydney for work. As with most work trips I spent the bulk of my time in an office but luckily I did have a chance to enjoy a free weekend in addition to seeing a bit of the city as I was toted around by the local sales team. Sydney to me was very much like the US with the exception of the funny accents, Cadbury chocolate and more lamb.
The Sydney Ferries are a great way to get around and a wonderful way to see Sydney from a different angle. It's also a nice way to cool off a bit on a hot day. One popular summer day ferry destination is the beach which for a trip from Circular Quay to Manly will set you back $10.60 AUS. In addition to cooling off a bit you get to see a great deal of the bay during this 30 minute trip. work trip Feb 2002 - next stop Singapore
