Travel Distances in the Empire

The travel distances within this document are taken either via the larger roads of the Empire or the waterways as marked on page 282 of the WFRP rulebook. As the scope for travel within the Old World is so large (for example, you can go to Middenheim from Altdorf at least four ways) I have stuck to the shortest distance(s). It is also for this reason that I have only detailed the largest cities of the Empire with the addition of Marienburg - were I to include them all then this document would be far larger than it already is. Enjoy :).

Altdorf

Altdorf-Marienburg: 430 miles down the River Reik.

Altdorf-Middenheim: 340 miles by road.

Altdorf-The Moot: 270 miles up the River Reik/Stir/Aver to Nuln, then either 270 miles up the River Aver or 400 miles by road.

Altdorf-Nuln: 270 miles up the River Reik/Stir/Aver.

Altdorf-Talabheim: 350 miles up the River Talabec.

Marienburg

Marienburg-Altdorf: 430 miles up the River Reik.

Marienburg-Middenheim: 440 miles by road.

Marienburg-The Moot: 430 miles up the River Reik to Altdorf, 270 miles up the River Reik/Stir/Aver, then either 270 miles up the River Aver or 400 miles by road.

Marienburg-Nuln: 430 miles up the River Reik to Altdorf, then 270 miles up the River Reik/Stir/Aver.

Marienburg-Talabheim: Either 430 miles up the River Reik to Altdorf then 350 miles up the River Talabec or 440 miles by road to Middenheim, then 390 miles by road.

Middenheim

Middenheim-Altdorf: 340 miles by road.

Middenheim-Marienburg: 440 miles by road.

Middenheim-The Moot: 340 miles by road to Altdorf, 270 miles up the River Reik/Stir/Aver to Nuln, then either 270 miles up the River Aver or 400 miles by road.

Middenheim-Nuln: 340 miles by road to Altdorf, then 270 miles up the River Reik/Stir/Aver.

Middenheim-Talabheim: 390 miles by road.

The Moot

The Moot-Altdorf: Either 270 miles down the River Aver or 400 miles by road to Nuln, then 270 miles down the River Aver/Stir/Reik then 270 miles down the River Aver/Stir/Reik.

The Moot-Marienburg: Either 270 miles down the River Aver or 400 miles by road to Nuln, 270 miles down the River Aver/Stir/Reik to Altdorf, then 430 miles down the River Reik.

The Moot-Middenheim: Either 270 miles down the River Aver or 400 miles by road to Nuln, 270 miles down the River Aver/Stir/Reik to Altdorf, then 340 miles by road.

The Moot-Nuln: Either 270 miles down the River Aver or 400 miles by road.

The Moot-Talabheim: Either 270 miles down the River Aver or 400 miles by road to Nuln, 270 miles down the River Aver/Stir/Reik to Altdorf, then 350 miles up the River Talabec.

Nuln

Nuln-Altdorf: 270 miles down the River Aver/Stir/Reik.

Nuln-Marienburg: 270 miles down the River Aver/Stir/Reik to Altdorf, then 430 miles down the River Reik.

Nuln-Middenheim: 270 miles down the River Aver/Stir/Reik to Altdorf, then 340 miles by road.

Nuln-The Moot: Either 270 miles up the River Aver or 400 miles by road.

Nuln-Talabheim: 270 miles down the River Aver/Stir/Reik to Altdorf, then 350 miles up the River Talabec.

Talabheim

Talabheim-Altdorf: 350 miles down the River Talabec.

Talabheim-Marienburg: 350 miles down the River Talabec to Altdorf, then 430 miles down the River Reik.

Talabheim-Middenheim: 350 miles down the River Talabec to Altdorf, then 340 miles by road.

Talabheim-The Moot: 350 miles down the River Talabec to Altdorf, 270 miles up the River Reik/Stir/Aver to Nuln, then either 270 miles up the River Aver or 400 miles by road.

Talabheim-Nuln: 350 miles down the River Talabec to Altdorf, then 270 miles up the River Reik/Stir/Aver.

Of course, once you know how far you're going, you'd like to know how long it will take you to get there. So, here's a handy table estimating travel times and costs using reasonable paid-for transportation: a coach on roads and a large or small passenger boat on rivers (see DoTR). All estimates are rounded-up. River times include upstream penalties. Travel costs are 7GC per day for coaches and 2GC per day for passenger boats (per person).
