Rules, Smoolz...

Everyone loves rules. And probably everyone has plenty of house rules they've made up. Here are some of the house rules I've used in my games.

Rules for Characters

Nitpicker's Guide to the Obscura: here it is, the original document I received from Herr Nitpicker years ago.

The Well-Adjusted Elf, correcting perceived problems with the basic elf character profile.

The Well-Adjusted Dwarf, correcting perceived problems with the basic dwarf character profile.

A Leather Armor Interpretation, to make leather easier to referee and more useful in your game.

Simple Blunt Trauma, to abolish Naked Dwarfs from your game.

Legendary Characters, presenting a way to turn your characters into demi-heroes and legends.

The Halfling Sheriff advanced career, part of a larger background on the Moot.

Defensive Parries, to save your character's butt in bad situations.

Size Matters, rules for handling really big and really little characters.

Rules for Wizards, Druids, and Clerics

Well-Adjusted Spell Costs for Real Wizards, correcting perceived problems in the experience point costs for spells wizards (and their ilk) must spend to learn spells.

Contramagies, a simple way to dispel magic for spell casters.

Sorcerous Familiars, the Second, the second version of my sorcerous familiar creation rules.
