Winners
from 1922 to 2002
There are many book awards for children books. The most
important ones are undoubtedly Caldecott award (1938-2002) and Newbery
award (1922-2002). Coldecott is the annual award for the picture books
for children age from 4 to 8.
The Newbery Medal honors the year's most distinguished
contribution to American literature for children. The medal was established
in 1922 and is presented annually by the Association for Library Service
to Children (ALSC), a division of the American Library Association (ALA).
The recipient must be a citizen or resident of the United States. Newbery
books are targeted for children from 8 to 13, but the kids younger or older
than that range will still enjoy them.
