The 100th Running of the Boston Marathon

Nineteen Cambridge Running Club members ran in this year's Centennial Edition of the Boston Marathon. Click here for the full story on this marvelous race!

Other April Races:

April 21st
  • Derek Mess entered his first race of '96 that recognized Clydesdales, and took first place in that category and 9th overall at the North Cambridge 5K classic with a time of 17:41 (5:42).
April 27th
  • Three CRC "runners" shed their track shoes for mountain bikes and trail spikes and went out to Ashland to compete in the Rockbuster '96 2-7-2 Duathlon on Sunday, April 27th. Scott Duhaime overcame a fall into a brook on the first running leg and a multiple bike collision to finish 35th overall in 54:04. New member Tom Kutter grabbed third place in his age category (19-24) to earn a nice looking medal and some other fine prizes with a time of 55:18 - nice stickman gloves Tom! You know he's in the right age group when he follows up this performance with two sets of tennis and a bike ride to the Border Cafe in Harvard Square for three margaritas! Peter Larsen also competed and finished his first mountain bike race, overcoming a fairly technical course. Peter plans to hit the sprint triathlon circuit again this summer. Scott will join him, but only if the water warms up a bit! For more info on multisport events, check our links page!
  • Less than two weeks after his marathon performance, Jim Reardon took second overall in the Chi Phi 5K, with a time of 17:08.
