Who We Are

*A relatively small club with a friendly supportive spirit.
*Runners with a wide range of abilities, experience, and fitness goals.
*A diverse membership that includes women and men from various backgrounds with an ages that can span 30 or 40 years).
*A low-key alternative to many other running clubs in the Boston area.

Club Objectives

*To help each of our members achieve his/her personal running goals.
*To offer our members a variety of running-related and social activities.
*To have fun! At CRC we take our running seriously but we always emphasize, above all else, that running should be fun.

Are You Thinking About Joining a Running Club?

There are many benefits in belonging to a running club. Because our sport is often, by its very nature, a solitary experience, we all need support and encouragement from fellow runners. So it's very comforting to know that: no matter what problem you're wrestling with (for example, a nagging injury or a training dilemma), someone in your club has surely experienced it before and can provide you with valuable insight.

Give it a try! Whether you're a newcomer just shaping up for a local 5-K or a seasoned pro trying to set a marathon PR, joining CRC can help to improve your performance! The focal point of CRC's activities are our weekly
coached track workouts on Wednesday evenings at MIT. Runners are generally divided into three groups according to their specific "10K" fitness levels. We have an "A" group that consists of 5-6 minute milers (sub 38 minutes), a "B" group of 6-7 minute milers (38-43 minutes), and a very big and diverse "fitness/novice" group consisting of 43-60 minute 10K folks. So there's no reason to run alone on a Wednesday!

Membership:
We know that people seek out running clubs for a variety of reasons. Some use them primarily as an informational resource, a way to find out about local running routes or races. Others are motivated more by social reasons, to locate potential running partners or meet a group of like-minded fitness enthusiasts. Still others turn to clubs for professional coaching, the chance to participate on a competitive team, and the opportunity to train in a structured setting.

Each of you has, at one point or another, expressed an interest in the Cambridge Running Club. Many of you have gone on to become full members, and regular participants in the Wednesday track workouts. We realize, however, that for some people, our regular membership may not be quite what you're looking for. Therefore, we are pleased to offer for the first time the **CRC Associate's Membership**. In addition to the regular information currently provided to you on the website and in emails, Associates will receive access to the protected areas of the CRC website (until now available only to full members). What's in store for you there?.... A schedule of weekly track workouts, divided up by abililty, specially geared to help you train for your next event....An archived list of nearly 5 years worth of track workouts, so you never have to plan another one on your own....A directory of club members, so you can find training partners, carpool to races, or brag about your latest PR. In short, some really great stuff to help you meet your running goals... all for a modest annual fee of $20.

Not sure whether you should become a Full Member or an Associate Member?

***You might want an Associate Membership ($20/year) if...... You use CRC mainly as a resource for running information You'd prefer not to attend coached workouts, but would like to be able to do qualilty workouts on your own You travel a lot, or don't live nearby, and thus can't make the Wednesday workouts (with your Associate's privileges you will be able to find out in advance what each week's workout will be!)

***You might want a Full Membership ($100/year) if.... You want to receive all of the informational benefits of an Associate Membership, plus.... Professionally coached track workouts The chance to participate on competitive teams (of all skill levels) An official team singlet The support and fun that comes with membership on a team

We invite runners of all ages and abilities to "come and check us out" -- at no obligation. Please join us for a couple of these workouts. Or, if you prefer, just come and watch. You'll meet our members. And you'll learn how our programs can help you.

If you're thinking about joining our club, we encourage you to take a minute to fill out our online Runner's Profile form. It will allow us to get back to you with more specific information!!

And, if you need additional information or would like a copy of our brochure, please email us or call 781-593-9592.
