Our Head Coach
Fred Treseler has been CRC head coach for over 10 years, and he is the president of TRACS, Inc.
Fred coaches a number of elite and Olympic-level athletes. He consults on an ongoing basis
with several corporations and running organizations, including Fila and John
Hancock Financial Services. He is also actively involved in the media promotion of running events such as the Boston and New York City Marathons.
Coach Treseler brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to CRC. As an example, his
emphasis on heart rate-based training has proved to be particularly popular and successful with our
members.
You can reach Fred via email at tracs@earthlink.net

Our Assistant Coach
Russ Brennen brings two decades of running experience to the CRC. A
competitive runner since the fourth grade, Russ competed in both high school
and college. At RIT (in New York), Russ ran indoor and outdoor track and
cross-country. Unfortunately, during the prime of his collegiate career
Russ suffered a serious injury and was "stopped short of fulfulling any
goals" he had for his competitive running career. Although he eventually
recovered the ability to run, he was never able to regain the speed he once
had.
Russ has never let running leave his life. For the past two years he has
been one of the three coaches in the Boston Running Club. Russ enjoyed much
success coaching with the BRC leading the 2000 women's open team to a strong
finish in X-C Club Nationals.
Russ looks forward to working with the Cambridge Running Club as a "chance
to meet, coach and possibly inspire an enthusiastic group of runners."
Russ enjoys working with members at every level and hopes he can transfer
some of his knowledge, experience, and competitive spirit to them. At each
workout he "seeks to establish a strong relationship with the runners and to
improve their running as much as possible".
Russ works as a graphics design professional. He lives in Framingham.
