Unseasonably mild temperatures continued for one more weekend, as race time temps reached into the 40's on a sun-sparkled day. This star-studded event featured two Santas, at least two recent Boston High School all-scholastics (Abdirizak Mohamud & Said Amhed), and Lynn Jennings. CRC took 4th overall (Peter Gallimore), 1st in Women's Masters (Louise Brooks), and 2nd for Women 30-39 (Diane Sagnella).

- BU Indoor track series, 12/12/98 and 12/26/98 .Bruce Davie and Peter Gallimore took advantage of the new, low-key indoor
track series at B.U. to try out their speed on some shorter races. Peter
competed in the mile and, with no serious competition, won the race in a
casual (for him) 4:46.8. The 3000m was more hotly contested, and Bruce's
time of 9:22.7 was good for 4th place. It was also an indoor PR (by
definition) and not too far off his outdoor best.
Two weeks later and fortified by Christmas dinner on the preceding day,
Bruce returned to B.U. to attempt the mile. Running in the slower of 2
heats, he took the lead early and never looked back. His winning time of
4:43.1 was his second best at this distance, an auspicious start to the
indoor season.
