The air chisel peels away the insulation cleanly, you can see the color
of the factory paint primer.
This is the first time I see the tranny/xfer combo from above, they
are supprisingly clean, not
a single scratch/rust on the bell housing.
To remove the shifter, simply find a small tube, in my case I used a
xfercase spacer
then grab it with a grip vise then pushdown and turn clock wise, I
did not
scratch anything do it this!
