SILICON GRAPHICS REPORTS 36% REVENUE GROWTH ALONG WITH RECORD EARNINGS

Company Delivers Strong Profitability and Increasing Market Share

On July 21, 1994,Silicon Graphics, Inc. reported that for its fiscal year ended June 30, 1994, the Company's consolidated revenues were $1.5 billion, a 36% increase over the comparable period. Net income for fiscal 1994 was $141 million, or $.91 per common share, compared to $88 million, or $.60 per common share for fiscal 1993.

For the fourth quarter ended June 30, 1994, total revenues were $433 million, compared to $319 million in the year ago quarter, a 36% increase. Net income for the quarter was $43 million, or $.28 per common share, compared to $32 million or $.22 per common share in fourth quarter of fiscal 1993.

"Fiscal 1994 was a year in which Silicon Graphics emerged as a significant computer systems vendor, and a leader in providing unique technology that will ignite the interactive age," said Edward R. McCracken, Silicon Graphics' president and CEO. "Our solid momentum, strong position in the marketplace, and healthy financials lay an excellent foundation for the future. We feel we are well positioned in markets that will grow rapidly during the last half of the decade."

The Company also noted that its significant gain in market share during the year was a result of a rich product line providing a full range of visual computing systems and servers, and an aggressive sales strategy. The Company added that it expects new product introductions in fiscal 1995 to build on its current momentum.

At the end of fiscal 1994, the Company's balance sheet reflected stockholders' equity of $921 million. The Company's cash and investments, including long-term financial instruments at June 30, 1994, was $588 million.
