Bob Schoner Prefect - Tripoli Charlotte, NC http://users.vnet.net/bschoner 5.5" Standard ARM from Rocket R&D Note the unburned grains falling to the ground .. Quote from Bob: "It was fiberglassed and had at least 10, maybe 12 L motor flights. It has been over 5,000 feet at least 6 times. It had close to 20 flights, and was my favorite rocket to date. It was reliable and flew very straight. (can you tell this is an emotional experience for me?) It was the white rocket in the skidmark dragrace at LDRS XIX. The last real flight was on Saturday (Aug 11) with the same motor case, 3" 4500 n/s Kosdon with a Kosdon L820 slow load. It went 7483 feet and landed about 120 yards from the pad. The motor that CATO'd was a fast load for the same case, a Kosdon L1500 fast." ======================== DSCN0848.JPG Public Enemy 4" BullPup Frank Terhaar-Yonkers TRA#8325 W4FTY Glassed, "Anti-zipper" dual break airframe, 6.6lbs (without motor) 38mm AT-J570 motor BlackSky AltAcc Skyangle 44" chute 5000' (est, download of data didn't work) ======================== DSCN0834.JPG Another of mine .. Fuzzy from too much shaking - digital cameras are a REAL PITA to stop motion with. Also the reason I don't have MORE pictures, but I'm getting better at it. Included for your amusement .. A scratch-built 5" "Crayon" ( www.ralphco.com ) heading up on an AT-K550. The ball of flame partially melted the tailcone .. 6.8lbs, altitude (est) 6500' Recovery was an "adventure" on this one: The main came out at Apogee instead of 500' and it drifted for 3+ miles and had to be recovered via RDF (and climbing spikes). The RDF beacon was scratch-built as was the Yagi antennae. Operates on the 70cm "ham" band. (See http://www.birch.net/~petek/RDF/70cm.html ) Same basic design as Pete's but upgraded to a new xmitter (TXM2) ( http://www.radiometrix.co.uk/products/txrx2p.htm ) and customized code in the PIC processor.
