Computing for Cave Dwellers

James J. Miner

I've given a lot of computer advice to friends and relatives over the years.  I thought I'd capture some of that advice.  I'm calling it "Computing for Cave Dwellers".  Mainly because "Computing for Dummies" is probably already taken and copyrighted.  I figure that if people don't mind being called "Dummies", they might not mind being called "Cave Dwellers" either.  I consider myself a Cave Dweller as well, because these articles consist mainly of stuff I had to learn myself before I could teach it to others.

I'm not an internationally recognized expert.  I don't have any degrees in computing nor am I Microsoft or Cisco certified.  But I have been using computers for longer than most.  By profession, I am a computer programmer, and have been doing this for the last 30-some years.  Having done this for so long, one accumulates a useful bag of tricks.

So, without further ado, is "Computing for Cave Dwellers".
