NGC 4569 NGC 4569 (M90)

This image of NGC 4569 (M90) is composed of two 4 minute exposures added together. This was taken on top of Elsinore Peak on March 9th, 1997 with my Meade LX200 10" telescope with a CB245 and a focal reducer at F/4.

This galaxy is part of the Virgo Cluster and appears inclined to our point of view. It probably closely resembles or own Milky Way Galaxy in both appearance and size. At the accepted distance of 42 million light years, the distance across the galaxy is about 80,000 light years, with a corrected red shift of 555 miles per second away from us.
