The Blue Devils (6-4) buried host Milford, 40-14, Friday night behind a relentless defensive effort and some big plays on offense. While Leominster's defense controlled the contest, Michael Pedreira and the offensive line provided plenty of scoring punch. Pedreira found the end zone three times on short-yardage runs. It was the third time in as many games he scored at least one touchdown. The Blue Devils got it done from long distance as well, as quarterback Pat O'Connor found paydirt on a sweep from 70 yards away and Malik Daniel added a 65-yard touchdown jaunt. D.J. Fuentes capped off the rout with a 65-yard touchdown run. The Blue Devils controlled all facets of the game, including special teams, where kicker Alex Heroux was 4-for-5 on extra point attempts. Leominster entered the contest with plenty of momentum after last weekend's upset over powerhouse St. John's. That win snapped a three-game losing streak and kept the Blue Devils' playoff hopes alive.
