A LETTER FROM YOUR
REUNION COMMITTEE
Dear York Classmates,
Fifty years ago today we were graduated and went our
separate ways. Now it's time to come together and celebrate
our 50th Reunion!
A full weekend of activities have been planned (see enclosed
Fact sheet). Our Dinner/Dance will be held on Saturday,
October 5th at the Hyatt Regency Oakbrook in the Essex
Ballroom. If you plan to stay at the hotel, a block of
rooms have been set aside for us at a discounted rate. When
you call to make your reservation, be sure and tell them
that it's for the York Reunion. (1-800-223-1234)
After you have reviewed the Fact Sheet (below), please fill
out the detailed Response Form and return it with your check
to Bert and Jane (Whitey) Robins by August 28th. Their
address is 890 Euclid Avenue, Elmhurst, IL. 60126. It would
be very helpful to the committee if you could respond as
soon as possible and not wait until the August date.
We look forward to seeing you at our reunion weekend
celebration!

YORK 50TH REUNION
FACT SHEET
FRIDAY, OCTOBER 4TH
- There will be a bus leaving the Hyatt Regency
Oakbrook Hotel at 11:30. The special luncheon and guided
tour of York will begin at 12:00. The bus and luncheon will
cost $5.00 per person. The new academic building with its
unique culinary arts restaurant will have just opened a few
weeks before our visit. If you choose to drive to York,
there is limited parking available. (those kids all have
cars).
- The informal get-together will begin at 7:30 at the
Hyatt Regency Oakbrook Hotel in the Kent Room.
SATURDAY,OCTOBER 5TH - The Golf tournament will be held at the Oakbrook
Municipal Golf course (formerly York Golf Course) with the
first tee time at 9:30. The entry fee to cover awards will
be $10.00 which is to be returned with the reservation form.
The cost of the green fee/cart will be $57.50 a person which
can be paid with a credit card the day of the event. Lloyd
Serfling and Bruce Carlson are in charge of the golf. We
have a 10 day cancellation agreement with the golf course.

- There is a York/Oak Park football game at Oak Park that
begins at 1:30.
- The Dinner and Dance will be held in the Essex Room in
the Hyatt Regency Hotel and will get underway at 6:00 with a
social hour, our class picture will be taken at 7:00 and
dinner will be served at 7:30. Music, a program and dancing
will follow. The meal chices are: Roast Beef, Chicken
Wellington, and Salmon en croute. Per person cost for the
dinner, yearbook, CD, etc will be $70.00 per person. We
have a 72 hour cancellation agreement with the hotel.
SUNDAY, OCTOBER 6TH - We will have an informal farewell breakfast at 9:30
in the hotel's breakfast dining room.
ETC.- If you have any favorite songs, please include them
on the reservation form.
- A large bulletin board will be in place Friday evening
and Saturday. Please feel free to post any pictures,
articles, etc. that you'd like to share. Please bring
copies.

contributed by fellow classmates. Please make our website
whatever you want it to become. We encourage your
participation. Experience a virtual class reunion every

- The Hyatt Regency Oak Brook hotel is just east of the
Oak Brook Center which is just off Route 83 south of its
intesection with Butterfield Road.
