Some character creation chatter at beginning of session. Some roleplay. 2 exp awarded to Ysrith, Boom Boom Harvey, Becca Peters and 2 exp to their mecha.
Background chat revealed that Little Antica has a 'mech arena', winner takes the prize money. Becca baldly comments about fighting for what you believe in, or honor. Ysrith notes one may also fight for lots of shiny reasons. Harvey comments that yes, he has values, and honor gets you shot at for no pay. Becca replies heatedly, referring to 'your kind', that 'your kind' are the reason she is here and the reason the Republic of Andanari fell; when did money become more important than innocent lives? Harvey reminds Becca she is now 'his kind' and part of the team, that she does not know him at all, and he can get the Trade Guild on a communication link if she has problems with any of this. Becca affirms that this will not be necessary, she knows her job and her place. Walls are firmly held up by lounging mercenaries who allow silence to return. Ysrith and Harvey exchange looks.

Character creation chatter at beginning of session. Background provided by helpful GM on Istan's Skybolts and how our motley bunch ended up in the same squad and together at Little Antica. No exp.
This is the 'newby' squad. Boom Boom Harvey, while not a new mercenary, is new to the Skybolts and is therefore in this squad. Others, for various reasons, are new to being a mercenary - although several have prior military or combat experience.
Attempting to protect New Antica as a rival insect species wanted to move in failed. The mercenary company became Istan's Skybolts when things changed hands to him as next in command. Directed to protect those they could, and get aboard a transport to Old Antica, the newby squad managed to reach the last transport out. With many problems in transit, the transport took months instead of days to reach its destination. Arrival was final, the transport is no longer transit worthy.
The squad has had no further contact with, or instructions from, either the Skybolts or the Trade Guild. The squad now has a +2 reputation with the locals.

Test Session. Convoy duty with antipirate combat. 2 exp for mercs and 2 exp for mecha.
The squad is hired by the city to escort a cargo of a desalinization plant and deuterium fusion plant to Point Coastward. Three Gustavs, civilian armored transport, carry the cargo in their protected interiors.
On the second day 5 clusters of 4 Sand Ray mecha each attempt to englobe and liberate the convoy. Shbob's Hornbuster shields the Gustavs while the remainder of the squad pacifies the Sand Rays.
A heavy humanoid Zak mecha with a shoulder mounted bazooka complicates things. Delivery of cargo successful.

Escort an agrarian mecha into the highlands with antibandit combat. Exp held.
The squad is hired by some farming anticans on Mount Lookitthat to bring a slightly used agrarian mecha to the glacial edge farmlands. A light lancer bandit mecha is encountered en route. The pilot is tendered to the farmers for justice, they return him with some turnips to town later. A bargain is made with the farmers for the slightly abused lancer mecha. Revelry ensues.
During the night more bandits make an appearance.

Coninued session. Antibandit combat after revelry in agrarian mountains. Exp held.
Sh'bob notices raider communications and awakens the squad, counting 10 bandits. Becca gets airborn and realizes there are actually 20 bandits, in the same Raiden Lancer mecha as the single bandit we defeated during the trip up the mountain. The squad divvies up the four 5 bandit groups for attack. Clay and Kimiko finally arrive at the farming town, just in time for the fun.

Continued session. Antibandit combat. 3 exp for mercs and 4 exp for mecha.
Collective bandit butt is kicked. Aerial support was particularly effective. Several bandit mecha were caprured relatively intact, as was the mecha poertable missile launcher system. Several mecha were bought by the anticans, and parts were used to create some sensor emplacements and an antigrav blimp over the village. The bandit mecha were not only all the same type... the were the same lot shipment, with sequential serial numbers.
There's a mysterious message left anonymously congratulating our group and urging discretion on future missions which may 'place us at odds with local businessmen'. A barcrawl to initiate Hiroshi as a mercenary ensues. Harvey's buying.
