His mech is a large beetle-form, 3 levels of growth on the mecha scale, with heavy armor, a penetrating horn that doubles as a heavy blaster and a force wall generator that's tuned to disrupt other people's force walls. Its basically a seige-buster. Flies like an over-loaded helicopter in an atmosphere.
Sh'bob is of the species Sh'bob from the planet Sh'bob (the Bugs call it EM357). Sh'bob is a global-scale pseudo-fungal mat that attained sentience some time ago. At some point the Bugs attempted to contact/conquer Sh'bob... and it didn't work out. There are a number of their mecha buried in/covered by the mat. Sh'bob split off several autonamous drones to explore using these mecha. One of its short-range goals is to get a planetary reflector to put on the back side of the planet so that it'll have sunlight 24/7. Some people are disturbed by that prospect. Most of those are wary of the Mantis Class Continental Seige Units Sh'bob has parked at his poles.
