Dance Journal

2002.1.4
Restructure the pages so that the main page doesn't contain all the dances, just the dance you are looking at. There is probably a lot of new material since the last time I uploaded these pages.
2001.7.9
Since the last time I modified this, I have added on some Merengue, Quickstep, and West Coast Swing
2000.11.16
This is a version of my personal notes on my dance lessons and classes. These are meant purely to remind me, and will probably do you no good if you haven't been taught the steps in person. ObTech: I keep the notes in XML format, and apply various transforms to get the output you see.
These notes indicate what the leader is doing. If you're a follower, these notes probably won't be that helpful.

Some abbreviations I use include RF (right foot), LF (left foot), RH (right hand), LH (left hand), QT (quarter turn), CW (change weight), LOD (line of dance), CBMP (Contra Body Movement Position). Some explanation of directions. The line of dance goes counter clockwise around the dance floor, and for dances that travel, such as foxtrot, waltz, and tango. If we assume for the moment that the line of dance is going north, and relate the rest of the directions to compass directions, the other directions are Backing Line of Dance (S), Wall (E), Center (W), Diagonal Wall (NE), Diagonal Center (NW), Backing Diagonal Wall (SW), Backing Diagonal Center (SE).
If you don't know what contra-body movement position is, find someone to teach you, I still can't get it right.
