Finally, a call from Mike. He's is in Troutdale. Surprisingly enough - he and a few other hikers have rented a hotel room to watch the LAST SEINFELD. Of course, the idea of taking a shower is appealing to them, as well. He's had a difficult time lately...seems that he must've had some contaminated water, and suffered from dehydration until he could get some medicine to take care of it!

Talked to Mike - he's on his way to Pearisburg - and IS SOOOO thankful to everyone for the letters and packages. He said he sat down and opened everything, right THERE!!! Tears welled up in his eyes at the sight of all the food and letters. He wants to Thank everyone!

The trip has been miraculous - except for the "water pollution in his system", it's been an adventure. He's met some wonderful people, and is always amazed at the wonder and beauty of the trail, and the wonders and beauty of the people that help along the way!
