I enjoy collecting and shooting firearms and in these pages I discuss my guns and other aspects of the shooting hobby, such as gun care, reloading and competition.
This page is for gun nuts who just like to look at and read about guns, but also for novices and non-shooters who might benefit from a plain-English overview of one man's gun hobby. As with any such technical avocation, the gun hobby has more than its share of technical jargon which can be a bit daunting for a newcomer. I hope to avoid a lot of that, or at least explain the jargon when I use it.
Here are the specs of my various guns, my impressions, modifications if any, etc. I will add pages as I continue to acquire guns.
I prefer handguns because I live in an urban area and there are few places nearby to shoot rifles.
I also have a page on my .22LR conversion kit for my Glock 22C.
I am still very interested in rifles, primarily military rifles. Due to legal restrictions on certain kinds of rifles in California, I am pretty much limited to collecting mostly bolt-action models with only a few semi-automatic military rifles permitted. Detachable magazine rifles with pistol grips, being far more dangerous than other types, are prohibited here.
I will feature my rifles here as I acquire them.
Gun care is a pretty personal subject: everyone has his or her own way of doing things. This section will have some notes about how I do things.
I have recently begun hand reloading of ammunition. I do this to save money (important when factory .44 S&W Special is often 50¢ a round), and also to get lighter competition target-shooting loads than are available from the factories. I am still thinking about how I want to organize a reloading section of this Website, but in the meantime I have uploaded a couple of pictures:
- My reloading area in my garage (the window bars and plywood shelves came with the house); and
- The first four rounds I ever reloaded (.44 S&W Specials (left); with a factory .44 Magnum and .44 S&W Special on the right). Ain't they purty?

Every so often I'll go out with some friends and play with guns and photograph this activity. I have started a page devoted to such gun antics.
