Summer of 1999

Summer on the San Francisco Bay is the best time of year for sailing. From the gala festivities of "Opening Day" in April through the last races of the season in October, the wind is up and the weather is great.

1999 marks the sixth season of sailing on the Bay for us. We sail on a wonderfully kept 1982 O'Day 34 known as "Fermanagh". Her skipper, Frank Johnson, retired from his day job earlier in the year. He has spent the summer sailing weekly (to keep the bottom clean) and upgrading the sails here and there. Fermanagh now has a new set of sails including a mylar 150 jib, a new mainsail and a new 0.75 oz spinnaker.

On the right you will find a few pictures of our summer-time fun this year.

-Enjoy!

Fermanagh participates in the South Bay Yacht Racing Association (SBYRA) summer racing series. This year (1999) she finished the season 2nd in the 'C' Division (Spinnaker).
