Welcome to Heidi's Web page!

Heidi is a Husky-Shepherd mix, about 5.5 years old and weighing in around 80 pounds. I got her from the animal shelter on October 12, 1995. Since she already has a microchip implant, a web page was the next logical step.

Heidi and I took two obedience classes (basic and advanced) with the Durham Kennel Club during the first year or two after I got her. It was a very rewarding experience and has helped to improve the quality of our life together. She passed the AKC's Canine Good Citizen Test on April 20, 1996. I love spending time with her ... playing tug, going for walks, going backpacking. If you haven't guessed already, I am a very proud daddy. :-)

[This is the picture I have on my desk at work.]

Regally lounging on the sofa.

Heidi looking pathetic, wearing a big plastic collar so she couldn't get to a hot spot on her rump.

More posing for the camera against a background of gorgeous colors.

What a happy dog!

Ah, the joy of playing in the snow!

A tired pooch after hiking up to our campsite on Mt. Rogers.
We made this very cold trip the weekend after Thanksgiving, 1995.
