Camping and Backpacking Info
I love to go camping and backpacking. I started camping back
when I was a lad with the Boy Scouts. My first experience with what
I consider real backpacking was a 30 mile, 3 day trip when I
was at camp the summer after my freshman year in high school.
We hiked along the
Pictured Rocks National Lake Shore on the Upper Peninsula of Michigan
along Lake Superior. That was also my first experience with an internal
frame pack. I got more into camping and backpacking after I graduated
from college, started working and met some hard-core backpackers.
Two questions that always come up are
"What am I going to eat?" and "What do I need to take?"
Well, here are some of my answers to those questions ....
My food list for weekend trip on the AT in Virginia
(Labor Day weekend, 1997)
My food list for weekend trip to Shining Rock Wilderness
(Labor Day weekend, 1998)
