Basswood Cave is on Nevin Davis' property, about a mile or so down the road
from the BCCS homestead.
Went in around 11am.
Came out at 2:50pm for a late lunch.
Went back in around 3:45pm.
Came out around 11pm.
Spent the day about 10-15 minutes in from the entrance, digging and
micro-blasting at a lead with blowing air. Also went with Nevin and Lisa to
the lowest part of the cave (down 3 drops using cable ladders) so Lisa could
push a tight crawl.
Had a bucket/sled setup with a rope pull in each direction, and pulled out
around 50 buckets of rock and mud from down at the end of the crawl to the
lead.
The lead that Lisa pushed was low, tight, wet, and muddy. She went until she
was just about to get out of voice range from me and Nevin. She got to a
point where there was a turn/squeeze that she might not have been able to
reverse and made the correct decision to back out.
Stayed at the BCCS homestead.
Got up there just after 11:30pm Friday night -- just a few minutes after the
other folks had arrived. (Glad we ended up leaving home about a half-hour later
than planned.)
