Lisa, Kerry, and I signed up for a 2 day Climber's Self Rescue course with Fox Mountain Guides. They usually teach near Looking glass, but the R.O.C.K. group had conviced them to offer the course at Pilot Mountain to be closer to the Triangle area. The course was taught by Patrick Weaver who was a fantastic instructor.
Lisa and I drove up Monday morning, getting to the parking lot just before 9am. The top of the mountain was completely fogged in, but we found Patrick and his Forrester with the Fox Mountain Guides logo parked at the corner by the climber's kiosk. Kerry showed up soon thereafter.
Patrick decided to teach the first part of the course at a picnic area just below the parking lot rather than take us down to the cliffs.
TBD.
