5/29/09
work took more time than expected; gave up and stopped working at 2pm to finish
packing and go by grocery store
Lewis and Dan showed up just before 5
dinner at Mexican place in Statesville ~7pm
rain on the road and hard rain while eating
double rainbow when we left restaurant
at TR ~10pm
lots of wind
met Scott in parking lot
Scot et al had fire
only brought summer bag; wished @ had warmer; luckily I brought and wore thermals

5/30/09
alarm at 7, up at 7:20
still very windy
Lewis made eggs and bacon
decided not to do The Daddy
hiked in to TR at 9
I decided to lead Hidden Crack - 5.7
wind died down by time we got to route
started leading at 10
took 45 min on P1
Dan - 45+, Lewis - 20
found rings at top of P2
actually led correct P3 this time
frakking hard, lichen, very little gear, maybe hardest gear route I've led; took 45 min; Dan faster this pitch
realized at top of P3 that I sunburned arms
P4 had options: lichen, wet, or other
scrambled/bouldered to top from Lightening Ledge
topped out at 5:30
realized I left WC Rock #10 at top of P2 when I cleaned anchor :-(
hiked off and back to packs
Lewis led P1 of Skip; I followed; started ~6:30, back on ground ~7:30
back at parking lot 8:10
group dinner, homebrews
in tent ~11
perfect weather day

wind picked up a bit overnight

5/31/09
alarm at 7:30

left parking lot at 9:45
Dan led first pitch of Cave Route, starting at 10:45
Lewis went second, I went third
I led second pitch; fun with great gear
I opted not to clip the spinng hanger on the rusted bolt
led using Lewis' gear sling; hated it; cams were catching on everything
I topped out just after noon
we were all on Lunch Ledge by 1pm; talked about what to do; decided to climb
third pitch of Cave Route (aka Block Route)
Lewis led
we all rapped back down (on single 60m rope)
walked off Lunch Ledge and back to our packs
20 min hike out from base of Cave Route (1f min from Jim Dandy)
drove out of parking lot at 3:25
