Rebolting at Pilot Mountain (completed 6/23/99)

Rebolting was done by Carolina Climbers' Coalition Volunteers to help
mitigate problems to vegetation, visual impacts, and add consistency to
available fixed protection (we found a lot of scary stuff and will share
this with the climbing community.  A bolt display similar to Stone
Mountain is in the works).

Climbers are urged to use the new bolt stations for top rope anchors. 
There is really no need to use trees.  Natural protection opportunities
exist (boulders, "chicken heads", thread-throughs, etc.), especially in
the 8-Ball area and Dirty Rotten Scoundrel area.

Equipment:

4 3/4" Rawl 5-piece Stainless Steel Bolts were used to secure 1/2" Fixed
Ring Anchors (stainless steel) on routes that can be top roped or led. 
1/2" Petzl Hangers (stainless steel) on other routes.  This set-up will
require climbers to extend the masterpoint over the edge when setting up
top ropes.

    Scarface (5.6):  Two standard bolts on top of climb.

    Body Surfing (5.7+):  Two standard bolts on top of climb.

    Foreign Trade Zone (5.10d):  Two Fixe Ring Anchors

    Bat Out of Hell (5.11b):  Two Fixe Ring Anchors

    Goldilox (5.6):  Two standard bolts on top of climb (cliff).

    Papa Bear (5.10c) and Momma Bear (5.10d):
        Three standard bolts have been placed to share between these routes.

    Baby Bear (5.11a):  Two Fixe Anchors on top of climb.

    Pee Break (5.6):  Two standard bolts on top of climb.

    Buzzard's Breath (5.7):  Two standard bolts on top of climb.

    Overhanging Hangover (5.11b):  Two Fixe Anchors on top of climb.

    Black and Blue Velvet (5.13a/b):  Two Fixe Anchors on top of climb.

    Turkey Shoot (5.8):  Two Fixe Anchors on top of climb.

    Mild Mannered Secretary (5.7):  First bolt replaced, stud replaced w/bolt.

    Arms Control (5.11c):  Two Fixe Anchors on top of climb.

    When Shrimp Learn to Whistle (5.11b):  Two Fixe Anchors on top of climb.

    Single Handed Sailor (5.11a):  Two Fixe Anchors on top of climb.

    My Husband is Going to Kill Me (5.7):  Two standard (I think) Anchors on
                                           top of climb.

    Black Rain (5.8-12a):  Two Fixe Anchors on top of climb.

    Devil in the White House (5.10d):  Two Fixe Anchors on top of climb.
