Peace & Social Order House Party:
Friday, May 14, 2004, at Brinton House, 6-8 p.m. We will share a pot-luck dinner, from 6 to 7, and then see John
Pilger's documentary, "Breaking the Silence."
|
|
Pilger is an award-winning author and film-maker from Australia, now living
in London. He is a long-standing and astute critic of American
imperialism, which means that, like other intellectual opponents of
American foreign policy, such as Noam Chomsky and Arundati Roy, Pilger is
virtually unknown in the United States. But he is highly regarded in the
rest of the world, and if you will take the time to view this recent
documentary, you will see why. In "Breaking the Silence," Pilger documents
the devastation of Iraq and Afghanistan and shows the real purpose of the
so-called War on Terror.
It would be nice to know if you are coming; call us at 244-7607 or send me
an e-mail (Wmkirk at earthlink.net). If you can, bring food or drink to
share with others. But come whether or not you give an RSVP or have time
to prepare food. Special thanks to Janet Piggins for obtaining this video.
