You are invited to attend a George Lakoff workshop, but seating is limited to 25.
The workshop, presented by Adrienne Craig Grey, consists of a half hour video
describing framing concepts followed by an exercise defining progressive values
and issues, and choosing the language with which to present them. This will help
us to understand the difference between communicating a sound political argument
and persuasive one.
George Lakoff, PhD, is Professor of cognitive linguistics at UC Berkeley,
Senior Fellow at The Rockridge Institute and member of the advisory board
of the Frameworks Institute. He is also author of "Don't Think of an Elephant!"
the definitive handbook for understanding what happened in the 2004 election
and communicating effectively about key issues facing America today. It is
required reading for progressive elected offiacials and their staff. Lakoff
has become a key advisor to the Democratic party, helping them develop their
message and frame the political debate.
There is a $1.00 admission charge per person.
