Letter Writing Party, Sept. 26
It's less than 6-weeks before the election so we can't let up our efforts!
Friends of MoveOn - San Jose are having another letter writing event!!
We will not listen to the polls and mainstream media! We will continue
to encourage single women in the swing states to vote - remember they
are not being polled! Please join us for letter writing - it is positive
and so nice to be among friends!
Letter writing will be from 2:00 - 4:00 on Sunday, September 26th at
Britton House, 1041 Morse Street, San Jose. Please park in the parking
lot across the street.

This event is scheduled for the same afternoon
that we had already scheduled the video.
After letter writing, you are welcome to stay and watch the
video at 4:00 pm, and join the potluck afterwards.
About Letter Writing
We have found a couple of different strategies
to successfully reach more women:
-
typing the letter, leaving room to hand write the names,
and printing copies on regular paper or nice stationary, or
-
handwriting one letter with a gel pen and then photocopying the letter
on stationary; at the party the salutations and the envelopes are written
with the same pen, and enclosures added.
The people with the computerized
letter generally sign with a pen and write something personal on the bottom
so that it's clear that this is not a bulk mailing.
Please try it and bring
the number of letters that you want to send out with you. We will also have
a copier available on Sunday if you wish to give the handwritten version a try!
You can also just come and hand write letters! If this is your first time,
check out
Mainstreet Moms Oppose Bush
for letter writing tips and sample letters.
Please bring your letters or stationary and stamps on Sunday.
We will provide the names/addresses, envelopes and registration material.
Looking forward to seeing you! Last time after our event, one of our writers
got long distance phone calls from two of her correspondents,
the same day they received the letter!
And one had never EVER registered to vote before! We can make a difference!
Please RSVP by responding to pbossert at sbcglobal dot net.
