Every once in a while, something passes across my desk which needs to be enshrined for all time. The truest geekdom praise can be heaped upon such net-distributed filk by uttering admiringly, "Boy, I wish I wrote that one!"

At the same time, knowing this is the era of "copy-(and-paste)-right", you always have to wonder if the person who sent it to out for net distribution is the original author, or whether they uncovered it from some Usenet newsgroup archaeological expedition. The net's collective unconcience is filled with recycled humor like this.
