December of 2002...We've put ourselves on the clock to remodel our upstairs bathroom in time for the birth of our second baby. The hammer falls right before Christmas and the fun begins...

The first order of business was to take an the existing door and put in a pocket door to increase space in the bathroom. Work began by clearing out the old wall, building a false wall to support
the existing ceiling. The old 2x4's were removed, followed by many protruding nails...

A new header beam was put into place, wide enough for the new pocket door.
Then the frame was installed, followed by the door. Fiona was a great hand in hanging the rock...err..drawing pictures of elmo on the new rock...

Now it was time to kick it into high gear.
Finishing up the outside wall with texture I moved inside. A new window, all new plumbing and drain lines, new tub, wonderboard, greenrock and hardibacker...well, you get the idea. we replaced anything visible...and beneath the walls as well.

Done...after 7 months and just in time for Mia's birth, we finished the bathroom. The room is warm and colorful. A very inviting and unique look which is a joy to hang out in and watch Fi and Mia enjoy baths in...
