Living Room French Doors - 1999
before_project

The windows came out with a hammer, followed by a sawzall to the frame.  We were left with a couple of painting dropsheets protecting us from the elements..

To start out with, our living room had no backyard access. This made BBQing an annoying and painful experience, crawling through the windows all the time! It all had to go...and we decided to replace the windows with full doors...We opted for full size french doors in the center with doors and screens on the side for venting.  As with most projects, demolition comes first...

Hanging the doors was probably about the hardest thing we had done. We called on a friend to come help us and got them in over a long 4 day weekend. We took advantage of the bare walls to run speaker wire for inside and out, and to run outside electrical for lighting...

For awhile there, all I thought I did was paint! And probably so did my buddy, Biggs. But the finished product was worth it.  Opening up the living room with a beautiful view, and providing great access to the backyard.
