I wanted to like this place more, I really did. You enter through a funky housewares-and-knick-knack store with cool and tacky items (think "Design by Bodum" and you're on the right track), and proceed through to the restaurant. The appetizer I ordered was quite good, blue-corn nachos with a black bean dip. The portobello mushroom sandwich, on the other hand, was an odd mix of sweet and savory flavors that didn't quite taste right. I would be willing to go back and try more of their ever-changing menu - I think I may have happened into one of the clunkers.

Boy, is this a neat place to visit. Boy, is this not a neat place to eat. Their food is "interesting". It seems that they worked so hard a coming up with unusual food combinations, that they never thought to see if they were any good. I had a chicken salad. The chicken was ok, the salad was good, but there were all these other things that I'm not sure what they were, but I know they just didn't really belong there... And Tom's mushroom sandwich just seemed like *way* too much fungus.
