2/2/2006 - We have recently received information from Sgt.Brian Lauzon that there have been several complaints to the Natick Police Department relating to the truck traffic on Speen Street. Apparently, this truck traffic is largely to and from New England Sand and Gravel and the Tresca site in Milford, not the Natick Mall. This truck traffic is not violating the agreement with the Planning Board, as this agreement relates to Natick Mall construction only. Sgt. Lauzon assures us that the Natick Police are monitoring the Speen Street corridor for any speed or commercial vehicle infractions from these or any other trucking companies. He also confirms that the Framingham and State Police are also looking at the traffic on their ends. Apparently, the issue is the volume of trucks, not the speed that they are traveling. We thank both the Natick residents who are looking out for and reporting concerns on Speen Street, and the Natick, Framingham, and State Police Departments who are enforcing the laws.
We are now looking at March 7th for our next WNNA meeting (we could not get a space for March 8th). We will let you know when the date and time are confirmed.
