Four Wheel Driving

A Mitsubishi Pajero climbs a rocky track.

Four wheel driving is a legitimate family recreational activity. However, there are some extremist groups that want all the Australian bush (National Parks, State Forests, etc) locked up and the keys thrown away. Access to our valuable bush would be by walking and canoeing only. This would be great if everybody in the community was young and fit but it effectively means that the majority of the population will be restricted from using their traditional camping and recreational areas.

The lockup mentality of these minority groups will only serve to destroy the Australian bush as fire trails will become overgrown restricting fire fighting abilities, noxious weeds will spread uncontrolled, and feral animals will reproduce totally uncontrolled to the detriment of native animals.

If you own a 4WD vehicle do the right thing and join a Club associated with the Recreational Four Wheel Drive Clubs Assoc. of NSW & ACT (Inc) and learn how your chosen recreation of 4WD'ing and responsible environmental protection can co-exist.

The 4WD Club scene is a great starting point to meet people who have similar interests to you. Most Club Members enjoy camping, 4WD'ing, bushwalking, Aussie birdlife and wildlife, sitting around the campfire for a chat in the evening, and a whole host of other activities.

A fairly tricky river crossing.

It was steeper than it looks in this picture.

If you have a 4WD why not join a Club and learn the environmentally friendly way to enjoy your chosen recreational activity.

Toyota Hilux's are great vehicles - I've got one now.
