Hi!

Welcome to the Aussie Page

As we said earlier we both come from Scotland originally and if you are interested in reading the latest news from Scotland try contacting the Scotsman newspaper. Sydney is now our home and what a home it is too. The picture above is the start of the Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race taken from the Official vessel that marks the starting line - the Sydney Maritime Museum vessel "Boomerang". The Sydney to Hobart starts on Boxing Day each year and is quite a magnificent sight as yachts race towards Sydney Heads, especially if the winds favour spinnakers.

When you visit Sydney take one of the Captain Cook Cruise vessels and enjoy a cruise on the most beautiful harbour in the world.

If you are interested in visiting Australia contact a very good HomePage at Aussie tourism and it is well worth a visit. It is a bit slow to download though, so you may as well go and get a beer from the fridge or visit my amber liquid page. Also, don't forget to have a look at how Sydney looked today at the Sydney Today Page.

What Aussie page would be complete without the bridge? As a link with South Africa it was actually a South African who cut the tape in 1932 when the bridge opened. Mind you he wasn't supposed to!

A few of my favourite Aussie sites to have a look at are:

Australian Geographic - some great feature stories here.

Australian Bureau of Meteorology - for the weather forecast, etc

Assuming you're over 18 have a look at some of Kevin "Bloody" Wilson's pages - as long as you don't mind the language.

Also, check up on how your shares are doing at the Australian Stock Exchange. How much have you made or lost today?

Have a look at the Aussie Photo Album, you'll love these pictures!

Take a look and enjoy your surfing!
