Progress (What's Left)

Growing Pains

For want of closet space, we've been knocking down walls, ripping up floors... Well not us, really, but our quite capable Contractors.

Or as we know them: Cortney and George.

The addition (click to see the plan) was drafted by architect Jennifer Davis.

The project was started on November 3rd and within 1 week the walls were up and the roof sheathing was on (1 week ahead of schedule). After that is, as they say, another story.

Here is the project after 15 days. Arturo is working on framing the bay window in our bedroom.

The addition, day 15.

Since the above photo was taken, everything is complete.  In fact, we moved back into our bedroom on Christmas Day. And have used up all of our hanging closet space already!

What's Left to Do? [as of September 02, 1999]

Although all of the contractor work is finished, we still have some items of our own to complete:

  1. X10-ize the house
  2. Finish the Microwave installation (trim, paint, etc.)
  3. Paint exterior of house
  4. Repair edging over bedroom window (cracking and separating)
  5. Do stucco at garage/addition roof (small piece not finished by contractors)
