This one didn't get away. I started scuba diving in 1991 off the South-Eastern coast of Peninsula Malaysia.


100 meters Breast Stroke, 1982. I lost to Adrian by a fraction of a second. I was 13, he was 15.

Ha! I beat Adrian in the 200 meters Breast Stroke. (1982)

The Under-16 (years old) team from Kluang, with all the trophies we won at the state level meet. (1983)

The Johor state swim team at the Malaysian National Swim Meet in Penang. I think this was in 1984.


The Johor state English Debating team. My high school retained the trophy for 3 consecutive years (1984)

Even though this was an English debate, the organizers put up the signs in Bahasa Malaysia (Malaysia's national language). What was I articulating so emotionally in this picture? I can't remember. I do remember that this was the first time I got my picture published in the Malaysian national newspapers. (1984)


This is the brother I was hugging in my baby picture. This is how we settled our differences as teenagers. Actually, this was taken during our Tae Kwon Do examination. The referee was our instructor, Teng Meng (1985)

Not one of my cleaner breaks. I was trying a palm-thrust on 8 pieces of tile. My record is 10 pieces with a single punch. (1985)

I won first place for the Blue belt division pattern display. (1986)
