Titus' Ford Probe GT home page!
I bought my Ford Probe GT from South City Ford on March 7, 1994. The car has everything, the 263 package(ABS, all power) and a sunroof. Changed the springs to Eibach pro springs. This enables the car to ride a little better on the little bumps. Lowered the car about 1." Changed the exhaust to a Borla cat-back system. It gives the car the big deep sound, not that high winding sound like a 4 cylinder. It's kind of loud, between 2-3 K rpms when you are steppin on it. Took the air box out the car and put an K&N cone filter in place of it. Also added a scoop under the car that directs air to the K&N filter. Used a water drain system to enclose the K&N air filter to give the car a RAM air effect. Upgraded the computer to a Dinan computer system. Rear spoiler ($185) is from Freedom Design. New front tires - Yokohama AVS A plus 4 (225/50ZR16). Just had a Centerforce Dual Friction clutch (clutch only $382.25) installed. The clutch now grabs faster and harder. Pedal is slightly harder, but I'm use to it. Got a flat that put a 1" cut in the rear Goodyear tire that could not be repaired. I replaced both rear tires with Yokohama AVS intermediate 225/50ZR16".
Just installed PaceSetter(Monza) Headers. The header was cheaper then the Hotshot headers and I thought PaceSetter would have a higher quality header. But was I wrong. First of all this is not a do it your self job. Have a performance shop do it for you. The problems I had was 1) the EGR fitting on the rear header did not fit the stock EGR connector. It had an 24mm fitting, when it should have had a 18mm fitting. Took it to a performance shop to have them replace it. 2) After getting the headers on the car, the joining pipe that joins the 2 headers together did not fit. I tried all kind of things. If I left the front header unconnected to the head of the engine, it was about 1" too high on the frontside of the engine (i.e. at an angle). Then it stuck out about 2" at the rear of the engine (i.e. another angle). So I did the best I could and took it back to the shop where they cut and bent the joining pipe just to make if fit. Way too much work. Maybe the Hotshot headers are better. But the stories I've heard are not that good either.
New additions:
Installed Road Race Engineering custom made front ($160) and rear ($90)
strut tower bar from Road Race Engineering phone number is (714) 899-1220.
New head lights made by Cibie ($39 each)
Brembo cross drilled front rotors ($77.74) with KVR Carbon Kevlar pads ($69.81). Did not like the KVR pads switch back to Axxis Metal Masters pads ($49.35). I love the way my car can stop!
Front tires. Replace Yokohama AVS A+4 with Yokohama Nexus. Great traction in the dry. But I do notice they are alittle on the soft side. But thats the price you pay for great traction.
New set of tires. Yokohama AVS S1. alot quieter then the Nexus, but the side wall are alittle softer. Thus giving a better ride but slower response. Traction is still good. Don't know the tires limits yet.
Got the car for $200 over dealer cost with 3.9% interest rate over 4 years.

1994 Ford Probe GT
After all I did, I noticed a gain in power. Noise level has changed from 2k to 3k rpms to start. Also when you stomp on it. At highway speeds its about the same as before with the Borla exhaust (i.e. quite).
Installed Tokico Illumina adjustable shocks on all 4 ends of the car.
Bought the shocks from NOPI at $130 a piece (800) 277-6674
Fog Lights are Blue Glow Halogen lights (look like Pilot PL1055)from JC Whitney (312) 431-6102
New Pedals by a RAZO look alike ($35)
Dinan Performance Engineering phone number is (408) 962-9401
Rear swaybar (# 699 at 7/8" for $175.32) from Addco Industries,
