This site is about the BMW R1150RS and R1100RS. Launched in 1993, the Sports Touring R1100RS was the first of the new generation of 8 valve boxer twins, a range which now also includes the RT Tourer, R Roadster, S Sport, and GS Monster Trail bike.
The RS is overlooked these days, because it's seen by many people as rather outdated, and too much of a compromise, when one of the other models may be better at doing a more focussed job.
To RS owners however, this is the big attraction: You can tour, commute or scratch in reasonable comfort, and with decent performance.
On these pages you'll find some useful links about RS bikes and oilhead BMWs in general, FAQs, some information about my own bike, and an ever-growing Forum section for open discussion.
