Release Notes
for the Bridge Management Module

October 27, 1997

These release notes describe the caveats for the Bridge Management Modules (BMMs), product numbers WS-C316-BMM-T and WS-C316-BMM-C. The related product document is the Bridge Management Module Installation and Configuration Guide.

Multiple BMMs in a FastHub Stack

The cabling guidelines example described in the "Connecting 100BaseTX Devices to a Backbone" section of the Bridge Management Module Installation and Configuration Guide "Installation" chapter is not supported. When multiple BMMs are in a FastHub stack, only one of the BMMs can actively bridge.

Note As documented in the Bridge Management Module Installation and Configuration Guide, a BMM can be combined with a Network Management Module (NMM) in a FastHub stack.

EMI Agency Approval Specifications

The BMM meets Class B requirements for the EMI agency standard AS/NRZ 3548.

FastHub 116 Chassis Software System Description

If you are using CiscoView with a Catalyst 116 chassis and a Bridge Management Module, the software displays "Cisco Systems Fasthub 316 with Bridge Module." The Catalyst 116 and FastHub 316 are functionally the same product, and both units operate with the same software.
